She's One Years Old Today!!!

Happy Birthday To You, Savannah!!!!

1-12-08 9 lb & 2 oz, 8:22 pm, 20 in long.

Here are some of the very first pictures of her in the hospital, when she was only a few hours old. I can't believe it's already been a whole year, since she was born. So much has happened since then. It's gone by so fast.
I remember being so nervous about holding her for the first time, worried that she wouldn't like me, or know me. My worry was heightened when I woke up many hours later, realizing that I didn't get to hold her first thing (because I had to have an emergency C-section-), wondering if she would remember my voice.
Jason was so sweet (and tired-afterward) to take care of her, feeding and changing her while I was still recuperating from the surgery.

We have sometimes been overwhelmed when we realize the importance of our duties as parents, but we remember how sweet and precious she is to us and it's all worth it to us.
We are so grateful to have her in our lives, she's such a happy and delightful baby. We have enjoyed her thus far, and look forward to the next year with her.

Just Jason & me

I figured I'd post some pictures of just Jason and I, before the star of our family arrived!

I think this was in summer 2005, sometime after we were married and when we lived in Tempe-the first time!
This was before we were married, at a friend's Christmas party in 2002.

This was taken just before we were married, our friends went with us to take our pictures at the Temple grounds. (2005)

This was our picture we used in the Wedding announcements. (2005)

Just chillin...

We found out that Savannah loves to try to get into the fridge, whenever we open the door. Here she's kinda irritated that the door keeps closing on her!

Sign language & Dancing!!!!

I've been reading a book by Diane Ryan, titled, "The Complete Idiot's Guide, Baby Sign Language". We've been working on sign language for her. She's learned how to do "more" and we're working on "eat" and "nurse" and then we'll learn "hurt/pain". Most babies are very observant from 9 months and up, so they are able to imitate your actions. We are excited to watch her grow and be able to communicate with us better.

I had to post this video we got of her dancing!! We think it's SO ADORABLE!!! She must've learned it on her own, because I didn't work at trying to teach her. Amazing how little ones pick up on everything we do.

She's our little headbanger, to tunes of Celine Dion-no less!!

Savannah opening a present

Savannah kinda got the hang of unwrapping, but it took a little bit of coercing, as I'm sure it does with most babies at around 1 year or less!!!

You can tell how excited she is over books! She almost always has one in her hands when she's walking around. She is also always getting into our bookshelves whenever we happen to leave our bedroom door open. Once she sees it open, she hightails it for the bookshelves and pulls out as many books as she can!!

Remember our Christmas Party game?

Well, here's a video of the winner...

Yes, Dan Petrakovitz was the winner, so he and his wife, Britney, will be able to enjoy a night at the movies on us!

Congratulations Dan and Britney!
